Delivery aggregator
An app that lists many restaurants and delivers their food for a commission.
Last reviewedWhat does Delivery aggregator mean?
A delivery aggregator is a platform such as Zomato, Swiggy, Talabat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats or DoorDash that lists many restaurants, takes orders and, in most cases, delivers them. It earns commission from restaurants (a meaningful percentage of the order value), delivery and service fees from customers, and advertising from restaurants that want to be seen. Example: on a 40 order with a 25 percent commission, the restaurant receives 30 before its own food and packaging costs. For restaurants the aggregator brings extra orders without extra seats, but at a high cost per order, which pushes some to build their own ordering channels.
