The firms, the timelines, and the languages

Offices by country, local firms, how and when hiring happens, languages, and entry titles.

Firm processes and online tests change from year to year and differ by office. Use this to prepare, and confirm the exact current steps on the firm's own careers page.

Key takeaways

  • Mexico: McKinsey, BCG, and Bain (Mexico City and Monterrey), plus Kearney, Oliver Wyman, and Roland Berger (Mexico City).
  • Colombia: McKinsey (Bogotá and Medellín), BCG, Bain, Kearney, and Oliver Wyman (Bogotá).

Global firms by country (official office pages, checked 2026-09-28)

  • Brazil: McKinsey (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belo Horizonte), BCG and Bain (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), Kearney, Oliver Wyman, and Roland Berger (São Paulo; Roland Berger since 1976), and Strategy& (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro).
  • Mexico: McKinsey, BCG, and Bain (Mexico City and Monterrey), plus Kearney, Oliver Wyman, and Roland Berger (Mexico City). Bain says its Mexico City office also serves Central America and the Caribbean.
  • Colombia: McKinsey (Bogotá and Medellín), BCG, Bain, Kearney, and Oliver Wyman (Bogotá).
  • Chile: McKinsey, BCG, and Bain (Santiago).

  • McKinsey also lists offices in Lima, Montevideo, Quito, Panama City, San José, Guatemala City, and Santo Domingo, and BCG has an office in Lima.
  • Deloitte, EY (including EY-Parthenon), KPMG, PwC, and Accenture work through member firms or offices in each of these countries. For example, KPMG Brazil lists 21 office cities.

  • Visagio, founded in 2003, with offices in Brazil and Australia, which combines management consulting with technology.

How and when hiring happens

  • Bain Brasil, 2026 cycle (its press release of 28 July 2026): applications closed 30 August 2026, an online test ran 2 to 7 September, and case interviews followed in September and October, two online and two in person. Roles: Associate Consultant, Associate Consultant Intern (6 to 12 months), and Summer Associate Consultant Intern (8 to 12 weeks, for students in their second-to-last year at schools outside the city of São Paulo).
  • BCG Brasil: applications closed 9 September, with online tests on 11 and 12 September. The test lasts 75 minutes, with 10 GMAT-style questions, 10 business case questions, and 42 English questions. Associates must graduate by July 2027; interns between December 2027 and July 2028.
  • McKinsey Brazil lists a Business Analyst Intern role in São Paulo lasting 8 to 12 months, for students graduating from about December 2027 to mid-2028. McKinsey's pages did not load in our latest check, so confirm the dates on the posting.
  • BCG Mexico runs two Associate recruiting processes a year, each timed to the start of a semester; its international page gives them as January to March and August to September. BCG Brasil describes two cycles, February to April and June to September. In Buenos Aires, Santiago, Bogotá, and Lima, BCG hires Associates year-round in two campaigns (February to March and August to September), and Summer Associate applications close in November for an internship from May to July.
  • Long internships during the degree are a common route in, especially in Brazil. Academic years differ: in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil the university year starts around March (for example, the University of Chile's 2026 year runs from 2 March 2026 to 29 January 2027), so graduation dates, and therefore start dates, differ from the Northern Hemisphere.

Language

  • Brazil: McKinsey's Business Analyst Intern posting asks for English and Portuguese. BCG Brasil says one part of its test and part of one first-round interview are in English, which suggests the rest of the process is in Portuguese.
  • Mexico: BCG Mexico runs its online case in English. A BCG Mexico program for women in 2024 asked for native or fluent Spanish plus business English.
  • Expect to use both languages: Portuguese or Spanish with clients, and English for tests and some interviews. Practice cases in both.

Entry titles seen

  • McKinsey Brazil: Business Analyst Intern, Junior Business Analyst, Business Analyst, and Fellow Associate. McKinsey in Spanish-speaking Latin America: Business Analyst Intern, Business Analyst, Junior Associate, and Associate.
  • Bain Brasil: Associate Consultant, Associate Consultant Intern, and Summer Associate Consultant Intern.
  • BCG Brasil: Associate, Intern, and the Black@BCG program. BCG Mexico: Associate (graduates with up to 3 years of experience) and Consultant (MBA).
